Shooting my Own Headshot!
Well I decided to tackle the fiascal of taking my own headshot. I needed new ones for my website as it had been a while. As a photographer this is always a challenge because for one you are always behind the camera, not in front, then you are so critical of yourself and it has to be perfect. 1st my husband took a few pictures of me. I wasn't satisfied at the images, the light was wrong as we did them outside and it was so bright so I was squinty. I then went into the garage to set up the Xquizit PiX Studio (I actually had room in there, cause I recently cleaned it). I played with my camera for maybe 30 minutes trying to figure out how to put it on a timer and have it take multiple shots. I even got out the manual, which I NEVER do. I had not taken a single shot yet of me, until my sister Loraine came over and said don't you have one of those button clicker things. I was like yes, yes I do. So I went and found it and bam I started taking headshots of myself. I found out how to do it, but the only problem now was I was constantly checking out the exposure and making sure I was framed correctly. But that was ok, because its part of the fun process of taking your own headshots.
Here is my setup in the garage taken on my Iphone.

I used a one light set up for this with a beauty dish on a boom. (I jimmy rigged this boom together using a monopod. lol) Then I had a box to hold up my reflector so I could get some catch lights in my eyes then right behind it is my stool (the grey one) to sit on. I had my camera on my tripod with the clicker attached so I could push it to take the pictures. BAM this is the results.
